I'm thinking of contacting Steam to see if they can refund my purchase, although it is my fault for not reading about Rockstar Social Club. I contacted Rockstar's support so we will see if they ever get back to me. The whole ordeal has left a bad taste in my mouth. So now I have to contact Rockstar's support and find out what's going on there. I reopen the program and try to authenticate AGAIN.

I try to exit the program but there's no quit button. The progress notice at the bottom says "initializing" but never connects. It even went as far to blame my internet connection. I click ok and the game attempts to register with Rockstar's servers. Mind you, this is all done in-game, no browser involved. The game then notified me it needed to be registered and permanently linked to my new account. I went ahead and registered for their "service" which I’ll never use outside of this one game- at this point I’m already irritated. When I saw this upon launching the game for the first time, I had a bad feeling. It's an always-on DRM that requires a separate account and authorization just to play single player. Like a dummy, I did not read that the game required something called Rockstar Social Club. So, naturally, when I saw it on Stem for 50% off I decided to pick it up. I waited a little for 3 to go down in price.

Some promotional submitting (posting your own projects, articles, etc.) is permitted, but it must be balanced out by a much greater level of non-promotion participation in reddit - the rule of thumb is no more than 10% of your submissions may be promotional.

Thank you for contacting R* technical support.

The Steam Community forums are flooded with upset customer letters.ĭon't try to tell me how to set up my router and software ports etc etc because I know for sure that it has nothing to do with my end. Please fix this issue as soon as possible so I can play my Max Payne 3 game again. Many people are unable to play Max Payne 3 for more than a week as well as myself and we are all very upset about this. The following was a written statement submitted to "Rockstar Social Club Support" on the this date.
